The Company
Pharmarama is a licensed wholesaler and importer of licensed and unlicensed medicines, based in London, England, with offices located in the United States and Germany. The company provides Named Patient Program services and procures comparator drugs for clinical trials worldwide.
Pharmarama was founded in 2006 by Ben Rabin as the U.S. affiliate of UK-based BR Pharma. BR Pharma first gained recognition for obtaining regulatory permission to import Ritalin SR into the U.K. Rabin — a pharmacist with over 40 years in the retail and wholesale pharmaceutical industries — and BR Pharma have provided over a decade of service to the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies and clinical research organizations, sourcing and procuring pharmaceutical products for clinical trials as well as providing services for Named Patient Programs. Pharmarama works in collaboration with BR Pharma as a single point of contact for Named Patient Programs as well as for the sourcing, repacking, blinding and distribution of comparator drugs worldwide.
Leadership Team
Ben Rabin is the Chairman and Co-founder of BR Pharma Limited and its U.S. affiliate, Pharmarama. He has been working in the pharmaceutical industry for over 40 years as a Pharmacist in both South Africa and the United Kingdom. He has overseen BR Pharma’s growth over the past decade and its expansion into the U.S. market. Mr. Rabin trained and qualified as a Pharmacist in South Africa.
Rosemary Bensley serves as Managing Director of Pharmarama, the U.S. affiliate of BR Pharma Limited, and she also serves as Managing Director of BR Pharma. Rosemary focuses on organizational strategy and administration. Prior to joining Pharmarama and BR Pharma, she was Managing Director of Hydrotec (UK) Limited, a water treatment services company, focusing on business development and organizational restructuring. Ms. Bensley also held management positions at Haslers Chartered Accountants, Harris Adacom Group, and Hogan Systems (UK) Ltd. She is an alumnus of the General Management Development Programme at Sunridge Park, Kent.
Ruth Rabin is a Co-founder of BR Pharma Limited and oversees administration, business development and human resources for the company and its U.S. affiliate, Pharmarama. Prior to her tenure at Pharmarama and BR Pharma, she served in a number of positions in the non-profit sector. Mrs. Rabin holds a Diploma in Management Studies.
Angus G. Cameron is a Director and Senior Vice President of Pharmarama, the U.S. affiliate of BR Pharma Ltd. He also serves as Head of Business Development at BR Pharma Limited, where his focus is on growth strategies for the firm. He has been a featured speaker at industry conferences worldwide. Prior to his tenure at Pharmarama and BR Pharma he was Senior Partner of Aeomica Ltd, a life sciences business consultancy which he co founded in 2002. Prior to Aeomica, he served as Senior Vice President (Europe) of Intergen Company, a New York based high-tech producer of pharmaceutical and academic research components. Mr. Cameron also held senior management positions at Healthcare Technologies Ltd, Celltech Limited and Becton Dickinson Immunodiagnostics. He was a former Board member of the U.K. BioIndustry Association.
Tammy Bishop is Vice President of US Business Development for Pharmarama, the U.S. affiliate of BR Pharma Ltd. She previously served, for two years, as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development IDIS Pharmaceutical Ltd. Ms. Bishop has been an investor relations consultant for Metaphore Pharmaceuticals, NeurAxon, Lifetree Clinical Research, Fleishman Hillard and David Eng Communications. She has also served as the Director of Corporate Communications for Oxigene, Inc., an international biopharmaceutical company listed on NASDAQ and the Stockholm S.E. Prior to that, she was Vice President of Investor Relations for Gemini Genomics, a UK-based company, from its initial public offering in the U.S. through its merger with Sequenom. Ms. Bishop also spent four years as Manager of Investor Relations at Interneuron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Ms. Bishop holds an MBA from Simmons College, and is a member of the National Investor Relations Institute.
