BR Pharma Appoints Rosemary Bensley as Managing Director
With Revenue Up 450% in Two Years, Pharmaceutical Outsourcing Firm Taps Finance and Operations Veteran to Lead International Expansion
BOREHAMWOOD, U.K. – BR Pharma, a leader in the procurement of pharmaceutical products for comparator trials and named patient programs, today announced the appointment of Rosemary A. Bensley to the position of Managing Director. In that role, she will be responsible for implementing BRPharma’s global business strategy, cultivating new business opportunities and overseeing operations and finance for the growing pharmaceutical outsourcing firm, which was founded in 1997.
Before joining BR Pharma, Bensley, 53, served as managing director for Hydrotec (UK) Ltd a Specialist Water Treatment company, where she worked for nearly eight years. While there she implemented a sales strategy that increased revenues by 22 percent and profits by 300 percent. Prior to that she held financial leadership positions at Haslers Chartered Accountants, a top 40 UK firm of chartered accountants; Harris Adacom Group /HAL (UK) plc, an Israeli /US owned IT networking company; and Hogan Systems (UK) Ltd., a banking software company acquired in 1996 by Computer Sciences Corp.; Bensley is an alumnus of the General Management Development Program at Sunridge Park, Kent.

BR Pharma specializes in procuring drugs for comparator studies, in which an approved medicine is compared to an investigational compound in areas of safety, efficacy and pharmacokinetic profile. The company also is expanding its “named patient programs,” which allow unlicensed medicines to be imported and supplied for use by a specific patient in a country where a licensed equivalent does not exist.
To accommodate its growth, the company recently moved into new offices at the Capital Business Park in Borehamwood. BR Pharma’s new 23,000-square-foot space includes full warehousing, validated stock control, reporting, recall and distribution systems.
